The Station District lights up its most special Christmas

For the first time, the six wineries in the Haro Station District will unveil joint Christmas lighting, inaugurating a wide range of activities to celebrate and enjoy this special time of the year.

The Haro Station District Wineries will jointly switch on their Christmas lights for the first time, kicking off a wide range of activities to celebrate and enjoy this special time of year in the iconic district, surrounded by historic and avant-garde wineries, wine culture and gastronomy.  It is a unique experience to stroll among beautiful light compositions and enjoy magnificent wines and tapas in the six wineries that make up the Association (CVNE, Gómez Cruzado, La Rioja Alta, S.A., Viña Pomal Bodegas Bilbaínas, Bodegas Muga and Bodegas RODA) or attend a Christmas concert.

The Christmas lights will be turned on next 3 December at 6 pm in the Station District central car park (next to the tunnel) and will be open to all, under current health and safety requirements.

After the event, at 7 pm, the century-old winery CVNE will offer a Christmas concert by Accademia del Piacere, a melodic ensemble directed by the violist of Syrian-Palestinian descent Fahmi Alqhai, who has performed in top music venues across the world. Tickets are €40 and include a Christmas meal. They can be purchased through this link.

Every Friday and Saturday in December (except the 24th, 25th and 31st) there will be a wine and tapas route in the Station District; an opportunity to stroll and visit the wineries, where you can enjoy their wines accompanied by a free tapa, while stocks last.

In addition, from 3 December to 5 January inclusive, wine tourism activities carried out in the six wineries (including wine tastings in the Wine Bars, winery tastings, winery tours and other activities) will be recorded in a ‘Christmas passport’ with a stamp. Once completed, visitors can drop the passport off in one of the boxes located in each of the wineries in order to participate in a draw for ten tickets to the Haro Station Wine Experience, the renowned wine tourism event to be held on 18 June 2022.

This year, the Station District at Christmas invites you to live an intimate experience surrounded by century-old and avant-garde wineries, wine and gastronomy, a unique environment in the world, which dresses up to welcome what is perhaps the most special Christmas in recent years. This initiative is supported by the LEADER programme managed by Asociación para el Desarrollo de La Rioja Alta (ADRA) and La Rioja 360º Avanza.
